This project began as the Signature Rock Your Body Workout in 2011, launched at a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club.
Over the course of her last 10 years in the fitness industry teaching Zumba, Barre, Bootcamp, Pilates, Yoga, TRX and many other fitness formats, she began to need a new container for her growingly holistic fitness expertise. She believes the future of the fitness industry is interconnectedness of a variety of programs to create the PERFECT workout. She began exploring ways of linking everything into one hour workout instead of needing to do so many different classes that all have a different focus and approach.
After Sara left her brand Rock Your Body Detroit to pursue her career as a fitness education specialist with another company, she began to Skype video personal train her clients and give them workouts to do for the rest of the week. She found it was easier to make a minute-by-minute “power hour” playlist to time them and make sure they do everything for long enough, rather than a classic timer. She decided if she could synch up the moves with the music, the music could be your guide to completing your workout.
After running a “Sequence Fitness” online test-run and many online Masterminds that included daily workout routines in the form of one song, she launched the first class under the name BPM Cardio at Vie Fitness, and the momentum has been nonstop ever since, expanding rapidly to three other gyms and a national franchise! She realized the demand for instructors in this format and began running trainings, and updating an online portal that allows clients and instructors to enjoy the fitness sequences, little perfectly packaged workouts, online. In her online programs, she would release one song per week, and the participants could use it as a way to start their day and be motivated all day, or repeat the glute song X3 for an intentionally challenging glute day. From there participants can learn each song and then mix and match the workouts to suit their needs and goals just by updating the playlist!
